Mood SWINGS! is now available on Bandcamp for $1.99. It contains the tracks Mood SWINGS! and Noir (Amperage Mix). Both tracks were written and recorded during the Summer of 2023 using trumpet and the Arturia Modular V software synth that emulates the legendary early MOOG modular.

Mood SWINGS! features lyrics and vocals! I had a lot of fun stretching both my keyboard chops and vocal cords, two things I enjoy but rarely get the chance to do.

Noir (Amperage Mix) is a new setting of the third movement of my trumpet sonata with additional harmonic accompaniment. The synth part is inspired by one of the characteristics of early voltage-controlled oscillators on the first modular synthesizers, namely that they would fall more and more out of tune with use and would require adjustments to maintain pitch. For Noir, I have exaggerated this tendency, essentially composing a piece of microtonal music.
