About
Dan Cook (ASCAP) is a composer from San Antonio, Texas. He began singing when he was four and playing the trumpet when he was ten. Dan has pursued music his entire life, earning a degree in music education from The University of Texas at San Antonio and teaching both band and trumpet in his home state’s public school system for more than a decade. His love of composition developed from his many years of work as a freelance marching band arranger, which in turn sprang from his drum corps experiences in the ‘80s. These days, Dan’s interests as a composer focus on the intersection of human society and the natural environment. He has composed works for chorus, chamber groups, and wind ensembles of all levels.
